I believe 1% crit is worth about 1% hit or +20 spell damage (at least with my stats). So I don't understand why you say "get 10% crit chance, you can lower your +spell dmg by 400".
You said trash mobs hit for 8k. I don't think difference between 1 and 2 blows is so high.
Casting frostbolts costs 100 mana/sec. 6k mana = 1 min casting, 9k mana = 1.5 min casting. If boss fight takes 8-10 min 0.5 min is poor difference.
This is what I wanted to say in my previous posts. I wanted some discusion with someone like classmaster about this topic but I got answers mostly from paladins.
My (or yours?) English apparently isn't good enough to explain my opinions. The only mage who answered me didn't understand that Player B in my example isn't Wilia and clearly didn't read previous posts. MY frostbolt hits 1.8k+ unbuffed.
Maybe if you try to think about what I said before you will find that I'm not as stupid as you think now.

Yet you hit 1.8k without any mana buffer, you cant keep it up for more than a few minits. Meaning you will lose out on dps. bigtime.
And trashmobs do hit for ~8k.

Yet the 9kmana mage has bleu items or beter, and dus he has spirit witch will get mana regen during fights. unlike you in greens.
And we dont want you to have 10% crit, we want you to have 20%.
If 1% crit would be 1%hit i would never miss again, since a mage has 14% chance to miss/resist and i have 24%crit, dus 24%hit.
Nor dose my bonus dmg go up with 880 spelldmg with 24% crit.
More mages responded, they posted with there main here.
And do use real situations, mana bolt still takes 2/2.5 seconds.
that would already make it 2 and 3 minits casting. 60 seconds difference.
Even with spell haste buffs(like the haste blade and trinklet), witch you dont have, you can only keep that up for a mere max of 10 seconds. (disgarding the icy vains)

Waldpyk I know what you want! You want make me cry! But you cannot, I don't have any tears left for stupidity of people.
But I'm kind and in case you meant your post seriously I have an advice for you.
When you want post a reply do following things:
1) Read the post you want to reply to.
2) Think about it.
3) Write reply.
4) Think about what you have just written.
5) Read the original post and your reply again.
6) Think if you are really replying on things written in the post.
7) Read again your reply and think if it is true what you wrote.
The think parts are most important in this. If you skip them your posts won't be better!
And if you are already doing this, you should stop writing into forums. You will save virtual space, your time and time of others.

having more mana doesnt just mean you can keep up for half a minute longer. when you lost about 3K. you can use a mana pot to get some back. having more mana will mean you can take it out longer till you need to use another mana pot. same goes for evocation and mana gems. being able to keep up longer with your existing mana pool will give you more time for any mana regen item/abbility to get off CD again. try and see for yourself if you can keep casting frostbolt non stop for 10 min with the ocasial break to use a pot/gem/evo. I'm guessing you get to keep up for 4-5 min max.
also your 1.8K frostbolt hits aint that impressive either. my 69 mage with ±400 spelldmg hits for 1.1K
you see a paladin post here. yes thats me. but I'm also a warrior, rogue and a mage. suppries eh? my mage is 69. doing pvp to get his glad gear. my RL m8 plays a mage and is 70. I play this game since retail release and thus did alot of research on other classes becouse of boredom at times. I also keep up what the community is saying and all. do you seriously think that every other mage is wrong and you are right that hit crit and mana arnt important? cant you do the math yourself or something?
